SCHOLARSHIP and MOBILITY programme between EUROPE and the AFRICA, CARIBBEAN AND PACIFIC (ACP) region for Master Students PhD Students Academic and administrative Staff
For more information on the program and application procedure:

CARIBU is an Erasmus Mundus Action 2 (EMA2) partnership program that aims at increasing academic mobility, research and capacity building opportunities between 8 EU universities (Belgium (2), Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Poland, Portugal, Romania) and countries from the ACP region (Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Gambia, Ghana, the Bahamas, Suriname, Timor-Leste, Samoa). The project is devoted to creating a mutual forum for scientific cooperation, learning enhancement and exchange of best practices. All partners in the project will strive to meet the needs of the involved countries including through the support to the development of disadvantaged regions, with a special attention given to equal opportunity and gender balance.
Seven priority fields have been defined by the consortium, which offer a broad range of disciplines (ICT, management, science, agriculture, social sciences, engineering and environment) in which Masters and PhD students as well as academic and administrative staff (hereby referred as “Staff”) will be able to take part in mobility schemes under a scholarship program. Please, note that the scholarship program is directed only towards ACP students and staff coming to Europe, and in some specific cases, to staff going in one of the ACP partner university.
The program will benefit students, researchers and staff members who will bring an immediate impact in their home institutions through the exchange of best practices, mutual sharing of knowledge, teaching and management skills as well as a very enriching linguistic, cultural and educational experience.
With the objective to achieve better understanding and mutual enrichment between the EU and Third countries, the European commission has launched the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programs, implemented by its executive agency, the Culture, Audiovisual and Education Executive Agency (EACEA). By creating exchange opportunities between partner higher education institutions, the EMA2 programs contribute to fostering academic and scientific cooperation projects that pave the way to strong and long term partnerships.
